LINE UPS

1) Gerard Evans / Chas

The original duo who sat round in bedrooms for a year learning our trade.

2) Gerard Evans / Chas / Joanne Mead / Samantha

The first proper line-up that recorded a track with Sam on vocals called 'Memorial', released on a long-lost compilation tape called 'Composed Bananas'.

3) Gerard Evans / Tim Soar / Dodo / Joanne Mead

Played one gig only ain Hither Green, after which the girls left as a result of Gerard cutting his arm with a razor blade onstage.

4) Gerard Evans / Chas / Tim Soar / Various Drummers

Wrote most of the Freaks EP and started playing London on an irregular basis.

5) Gerard Evans / Chas / Dev / Various Drummers

The line up that started getting noticed - our first review in NME c/o Tony D, more regular gigs in London.

6) Gerard Evans / Chas / Si Barry / Bill Mahoney

Probably the definitive line-up. Formed two days before going into the studio to records the 'Freaks...' EP, recorded the Nails single, gigged lots and only stopped when Si wanted the band to put everything on hold (including recording an LP!) whilst he took his college exams. The rest of us were on the dole.

7) Gerard Evans / Chas / Antke Klaehn / Bill Mahoney / Jon Howells

Gerard's friend Antje joined to replace Si and we also got in Bill's flatmate Jon on keyboards to fill out the sound. This linbe-up did the Fuzzbox tour, recorded the Lick single and the unreleased album. Things came to a head on tour with Antje.

8) Gerard Evans / Chas / Alastair / Bill Mahoney / Jon Howells

New Zealander Alastair replaced Antje after answering an ad in Melody Maker where we were totally overrun by applicants thanks to Gerard talking up the bands a bit too much in the band. Played some good gigs and wrote some good songs, including 'A Clown Too Many', featured on the upcoming retro CD.

9) Gerard Evans / Chas / Si Barry / Wayne John

The line up that played the two 'reformation' gigs in 1999 at Brighton and brixton. Wayne John stood in on drums for Bill, who couldn't make it.

10) Gerard Evans / Anna Caswell / Gavin Shepherd

The present line-up, with Gavin and Gerard writing the music and Anna and Gerard performing it. Punk as fuck.
